Dispersion and Toughening Effect of Polyethylene Polyamine Modified Graphene Oxide (GO) in Epoxy Resin for Carbon Fabric Composite
In this work, a new method is developed to disperse the GO into epoxy resin without solvents.To improve the dispersion of GO, GO is modified with polyethylene polyamine (PTPA).It is was showed that after 30 min in cell disruptor, GO could be well dispersed in Bisphenol A epoxy resin (BPA) without any solvent.To get further improvement of the dispersion,GO is modified with polyethylene polyamine (PTPA-GO), and PTPA-GO shows distinct enhancement of dispersion compared to GO.For GO toughener, the better it is dispersed the higher fracture toughness of the epoxy resin, which would bring higher mechanical properties for the epoxy resin based carbon fabric composites.
