Influence of Garment Stack Thickness on Reading Distance of UHF RFID Tag

RFID-based intelligent management technology of textile garments has developed rapidly in recent years;however, due to the complex environment in garment package and logistics management, the application of RFID tag lags behind.Given the influence of different packaging conditions in garment management on the efficiency of RFID tag application, this study will study the reading distance of RFID under different stack thickness of garment.By increasing the thickness of the stack garment, this paper explores the influence of the stack thickness on the reading distance in the case of single tag and multiple tags in the packaging box, respectively, when the tag and reader are placed in parallel. The test results show that in case of single tag, the reading distance is nonlinearly shortened with an increasing stack thickness, and nearly keeps stable level beyond a certain thickness;in case of multiple tags, the reading distance is shorter than that of single tag, but the reading distance generally meets the demand for industrial transportation.
