Sound Sensors Based on Electrospun Nanofibre Web
Electrospun nanofiber webs have specific surface and structure compared with flat films, thus they have great potential for making sensors. In particular, piezoelectric nanofibres produced by electrospinning have shown remarkable mechanical-to-electricity conversion property. In this study, we show that polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) electrospun nanofibre webs have strong acoustoelectric conversion ability.Nanofibre characteristics affect electrical outputs. The nanofibre sensor devices are able to detect low-frequency sound, making them potential use in detecting and recording sound.
