Introduction Nitrobenzene (NB) is an important representative of recalcitrant compounds whose biodegradation is initiated by mono-oxygenation via an aerobic pathway or by reductions via an anaerobic pathway.For example, NB is transformed to nitrophenol in an aerobic pathway and to aniline (AN) in anaerobic pathway.
