Study on Grit Removal Performance and Optimization of Aerated Grit Chamber: An Example from Guiyang Qingshan Underground WRP
As high grit content is common problem in China especially in southwest region, a study of grit size distribution and grit removal performance of aerated grit chamber (AGC) was carried out in Guiyang Qingshan underground wastewater reclamation plant (WRP), which is a typical underground plant with the capacity of 50,000m3/d.The grit content of influent of AGC is 14.07+5.84g/m3.It can be as high as 1.7~3.9 times of the standard design value of 7.2g/m3.The grit removal efficiency of AGC is 89.64%, but the efficiency for the fine grit smaller than 212μm is only 65.89%.On the basis above, the AGC was optimized out by adjusting the gas-water ratio.
