The application of classified assignment and power-law models for wound space in quantitative assessments of degraded land
Land degradation occurs when in agriculture, forestry, mining, and the construction of varied facilities include highway, railway, hydropower and others.Evaluation factors singularity in wound space of degraded land include soil types, weathering stages, elements content, particle size etc.The spatial status of these non-linear processes have in common can be modeled by power-law.Establishing a basic classification system of evaluation factors, assign values to this system or use original value of each objects. The establishment of this data framework enhances the quantitative assessments by power-law models for wound space. The method described in this paper not only provides a new idea for mine-site remediation and ecological rehabilitation, but also facilities a near-natural landscape reinstatement planning.A case study of an abandoned quarry from area next to the Shiyan, Hubei Province, China is introduced.
