Value Chain and Bilateral Competition in IOT Industrial Organization
The combination of smart phone and IOT has changed the value chain of IOT industrial organization. In this paper, we analyze the application of smart phone in IOT and put forward the concept of industrial organization value chain and its analysis method, especially in IOT industrial organization. This paper analyze the value chain within the organization, which is quite different from other analysis focusing on enterprise. In order to interpret it, a model of behavior which involves smart phone platform and IOT application, that is bilateral market, was established, solving the equilibrium distribution value of industrial organization. The equilibrium shows that the platform developers decide the platform access fee and price of platform to achieve consumers and their software developers has been balanced on the two platforms when the distribution of users and software developers on two platform are achieved by Hotelling model.A game theory model of price competition strategy about a two-level supply chain with platform developers and their software developer respectively, is constructed under the assumption that the switching costs of two application software developers on platform developer is zero. The equilibrium platform developer platform strategy and application software retail prices is achieved, which can be a theoretical basis for the behavior of the market price of the software industry.
