The Empirical Research on the Factors Influencing Farmer Households Participation in Modern Agricultural Produce Supply Chain
Farmers rationality suggests that if participating in modern agricultural produce supply chain brings more benefit, they would do it with no doubts.However, there are still many farmers who have not participated due to institutional reasons or restrictions from personal capacity.The thesis reviews the existing literature, collects data about the farmers through questionnaires and interviews on site including their personal and family characteristics, knowledge about the supply chain, awareness about potential profitability, awareness about risks and willingness to cooperate, analyzes the data with descriptive statistics and conducts empirical research using binary logit model, in order to explore the factors influencing the participation in modern agricultural produce supply chain of Chinese western farmers.
