The Study of the Jewelry Usages by Shanghai Women in Modern China
There are very few researches related to jewelry in Shanghai fashion history research field.Shanghai is a universal city, which had been a fashion center from late Qing dynasty and the republic period.It was affected by western culture, and the jewelry tended to be westernized and the style developed for a long time.In modern Shanghai, actually only the high-class women wore jewelry.This paper chooses three profession identities women to research movie stars, social celebrities and intellectual women.The paper researches jewelry in the fashion-matching context, based on historiography, artistic design, and photography, to analyzedifferent professional women wear different kinds of jewelry, such as style, material and the way they use them.Looking back to the jewelry history in modern Shanghai is very helpful to summarize Shanghai womens jewelry features, which can give a reference to Shanghai style jewelrys development, and also can heritage Shanghai culture.
