Conformal Microstrip Antenna based on a Thin Textile Composite Structure
A conformal microstrip antenna structure covering the global system for navigation was successfully modified and fabricated, then both electromagnetic and mechanical properties was analyzed. This antenna was made by glass fabric and copper using a novel integrative construction. The electromagnetic results showed that the antenna has a good reflection coefficient that can meet the GPS communication requirement. And the tensile test was carried out by a serials real structure considered samples.Tensile strength result demonstrated that the copper doesnt affect the mechanical properties of the composites. Moreover, microscope observation test further confirmed the good performance of the antenna in this design. Therefore, this textile-based antenna provided for a more reliable integrative construction when its used in a smart structure that needs both electromagnetic and mechanical performance.
