Wettability Improvement of Cotton Yarns based on a New Ar/O2 Atmospheric Pressure Long-tubular Plasma Continuous Treatment System
Due to raw cotton is hydrophobic fiber, This research is discussed new plasma system technology how to influence of wettability of cotton yarns, This research developed a new Ar/O2 atmospheric pressure long-tubular plasma continuous treatment system, adjusting plasma apparatus and optimize the plasma experiment, it can make yarn be treatment continuously, also suitable for large-scale standardized and automatic production.This new plasma system can roughen the fiber surface, etch away the hydrophobic cuticle layer and introduce polar groups.Furthermore, a better water diffusion in the cotton yarn can be achieved because of the improved hydrophilicity by using the plasma treatment.It will beneficial for the environment.
