The Use of Statistical Techniques to Study the Effect of Spinning Parameters on Rotor Spun Yarn Strength
Yarn strength is one of the most important yarn quality characteristics since it affects the manufacture and usability of both woven and knitted fabrics.Rotor spun yarns of count Ne 15 and Ne 24 were spun and the effect of opening roller speed, rotor speed, count and twist on yarn strength was studied using statistical techniques. The results indicated that yarn strength reduced with increasing count but increased with increasing rotor speed up to a maximum and then reduced.Twist and opening roller speed were found to have insignificant influence on yarn strength.
