Unusual formation of Bis(5,6,7-trihydroquinolyl)-fused benzodiazepines and their Mg & Al complexes for ε-caprolactone polymerization
Polycaprolactone and poly(lactide) are two very important polymers used in agricultural, biomedical and environmental fields due to their tuneable properties and biodegradability.1 Since discrete metal complexes produced polymers contains the residual trace of catalyst, magnesium and aluminum remains a promising catalyst due to its lack of toxicity and essential for human life.Recently, significant amount of bimetallic / trimetallic complexes stabilized by tetradentate ligands were reported towards the ROP of cyclic esters due to probably bimetallic active species facilitate the cooperation between two metal centers in polymerization reactions, which are considered for improving their activities.
