Constructing Porous G-C3n4 with Salt Templating for Enhanced Photoactivity

Recently, g-C3N4 with large SBET and enhanced optical and electronic properties has attracted wide attention for their outstanding photocatalytic activity.Especially porous g-C3N4 show great potential in photocatalysis.However, the methods using hard templates such as mesoporous silica, silica nanoparticles for the preparation of porous g-C3N4 suffer from the use of hazardous etchants and are often time-consuming and high-costs.1-3 Here we present that salts such as CaCl2, MgSO4, CaCO3 can serve as green templates for the fabrication of porous g-C3N4.In our process, melamine serves as the precursor and the salts with different crystal sizes as the templates.
