Copolymerization of Ethylene and Polar Monomer by Using Phospino-Phenolate Neutral Nickel Catalysts
Polyolefins are the fastest-growing materials of the polymer industry, with worldwide production in excess of hundreds billion pounds.1 Some material properties such as printability, compatibility, adhesion and dye retention were limited due to their inherently nonpolar.2 Therefore, the synthesis of functionalizated polyolefins has attracted much attention from a wide range of academic and industrial communities to improve these above properties. In addition, coordinated insertion polymerization of ethylene and polar-subsititued vinyl monomers (CH2=CH-R) is not only a direct synthetic methods but a challenging goal to obtain functional polyolefins.1,3 There are only few kinds of catalysts to achieve the copolymerization of ethylene and vinyl polar monomers (methyl acrylate), such as cationic Pd(Ⅱ)diimine complexes,4 phosphine sulfonate palladium complexes,5 cationic bisphosphine monoxide palladium complexes2and imidazo l,5-aquinolin-9-olate-1-ylidene palladium complexes.
