Synthesis of Novel Soluble Dithiolene Complex as Photosensitizer
Three metal-bis(dithiolene) complexes CNi, CPt, CPd with strong and broad absorption in the near-infrared (NIR) region are synthesized as photosensitizers, in which carbazole is used as strong electrondonating group at the molecular periphery.Their chemical structures are characterized in detail by 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, IR and XPS spectra. The thermal, electrochemical and optical absorption properties are systematically investigated and discussed. They all have good solubility in organic common solvents due to the introduction of2-ethylhexanyl aliphatic chains into the complexes. The UV-vis-NIR spectra reveal that they show strong and broad absorption in the NIR region of 800~1550nm owing to the optimization of electron-donating groups in the molecular periphery. The thermogravimetric measurement indicates that their thermal decomposition temperature is all above 350 ℃, exhibiting good thermal stability.Their electrochemical band gap is narrow through the calculation from the data of cyclic voltammetry. The low band gap further implies the potential improvement of NIR absorption performance.
