Ni-Mo-Mg CATALYTIC CARBONIZATION TO ACHIEVING HIGH FLAME RETARDANCY OF LLDPE
A kind of Ni-Mo-Mg catalysts (Nmm-cats) was demonstrated to catalyze effectively the carbonization of linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) and significantly improve its flame retardancy.A charring experiment testified that the Nmm-cats with appropriate Mo/Mg/Ni mole ratio value could deposit nearly 56 wt% of volatile products from LLDPE with the Nmm-cat mass fraction as low as 5%.The improvement in the flammability retardancy of LLDPE was clarified by using a cone calorimeter.
