THE PREPARATION OF ENCAPSULATED Mg(OH)2@CMSs FLAME RETARDANT AND ITS APPLICATION IN PET MATRIX

  In this paper, micro-encapsulated Mg(OH)2@CMSs (MMg(OH)2@CMSs) flame retardant was prepared and blended with PET to obtain MMg(OH)2@CMSs/PET composites.The microstructures and flame retardant properties of MMg(OH)2@CMSs/PET were characterized.The results showed that the MMg(OH)2@CMSs flame retardant had a stronger binding force with PET matrix than that of Mg(OH)2@CMSs, and the limit oxygen index (LOI) of MMg(OH)2@CMSs/PET composites were 22.6% with the content of 2Wt‰ as same as the LOI of Mg(OH)2@CMSs/PET.
