PREPARATION AND INVESTIGATION OF HALOGEN-FREE INHERENT FLAME RETARDANT RIGID POLYRETHANE FOAM

  A flame retardant polyols (P-N-polyols) containing phosphorus and nitrogen was synthesized.P-N-polyols were introduced into rigid polyurethane foam to get a series of flame retardant rigid polyurethane foam (FRPU).The results showed that the flame retardancy of FRPU were enhanced with increasing mass ratio of P-N-polyols to polyether polyols (r).When r was from 0/100 to 100/0, the LOI varied from 19.0% to 32.0%, the UL-94 burning ratings varied from no rating (NR) to V-0.The TGA indicated that FRPU degrades earlier than pure PU, but the carbon residue rate enhanced from 19.0% of pure PU to 38.1% of FRPU (r=100/0) at 700 ℃.
