FLAME RETARDANT AND SMOKE SUPPRESSION ASPHALT CONCRETE FOR TUNNEL

  In order to develop flame retardant and smoke suppression asphalt concrete, the combustion characteristics of asphalt were evaluated by the limit oxygen index and the Cone Calorimeter.Through the flame retardant modification, synergistic flame retardant design, limiting oxygen index of asphalt binder higher than 27% was determined to the flame retardant standard;Through analysis of heat release and smoking characteristics, the requirements of slow rate of smoke emission and small heat generation with a slight density and low quantity of heat were ensured to the tunnel construction and fire safety and enough condition and time to escape and rescue.
