PREAMBLE This document constitutes an overview of the current production and trade situation for tea, as well as medium term projections to 2021.Before looking at the specific factors impacting production and trade I would like to provide you with a brief overview of the Intergovernmental Group on Tea: its role and functions, as it is important to understand the context for which I am writing this paper.
