World Tea Nematodes and Their Control
Nematodes, commonly referred to as eelworms are translucent wormlike organisms that inhabit wide range of habitats.Whilst a large number of species exist as free living forms, others parasitize both animals and plants. Those that are parasitic on plants (phyto-nematodes), are microscopic organisms which invade different parts of the plants, including stems, leaves, flowers, seeds and roots. The phyto nematodes which attack the tea plant are root feeders and cause severe damage to tea.
