Integrated Tea Pest Management in Japan
In Japan, more than 120 species of tea pest have been recorded.Among these, ten and more species are serious.Today, the control with agricultural chemicals has been done for these serious tea pests.There are not a lot of agricultural chemicals applications to the tea leaf, comparing it with other crops.Under a present practice management system, the applications of agricultural chemicals have been done 15-20 times a year.On the other hand, because tea is a healthy drink, people have requested the conserve agricultural chemicals cultivation technology for a long time.Therefore, the research of a variety of synthetic agricultural chemicals substitution control methods has been advanced up to now.As a result, it has done in Japan as the mating disruptant and the granulosis Virus intended for tortrix moth are put to practical use in advance of other crops.
