Branched Polyethylenes by the Fused-Cycloalkanonylpyridylnickel Halides

Encouraged by the α-diiminometal (Ni and Pd) complexes for ethylene polymerization,1 the 2-iminopydlnickel pre-catalysts has been extensively investigated towards ethylene polymerization or oligomerization.2,3,4, The 5,6,7-trihydroquinolin-8-one derivatives were also introduced employing fused-cycloalkanonylpyridines instead of 2-iminopyridines.5 To enrich our knowledge, a series of N-(5,6,7-Trihydroquinolin-8-ylidene)-2-benzhydrylnaphthylamine derivatives was synthesized and used to prepare the corresponding halogeno (bromo or chloro)-bridged dinuclear L2Ni2X4 (X =Br or Cl) complexes.
