Ethylene (Co-)Polymerization Behavior of Zirconium Chlorides Bearing Bulky Unsymmetrical η3-Azaallyl Ligands

Azaallylmetal complexes have drawn much attention due to the diverse bonding modes (Scheme 1).Our efforts have focused on the η3-azaallylzirconium complexes 1 for producing polyolefin, In terms of the role of the η5-ligand, the η3-azaallyl can be considered as an alternative, our efforts targeted to the bridged dianionic η3∶η 1-ligands and succeeded to get desiring complexes 2, the bis(η3-azaallyl)zirconium dichloride and the silyl-bridged η3∶η1-coordinated zirconium trichloride.The pre-catalysts showed high activity in both ethylene polymerization and copolymerization of ethylene with 1-hexene3.
