Neodymium quinolinylcarboxylates as a highly active catalyst for isoprene polymerization
The rare earth catalysts are highly effective in stereospecific polymerization of dienes.1-4 Neodymium (Nd)-based catalysts are widely used in manufacture of homopolymers and copolymers. In this article, a series of alkyls quinolinyl carboxyl neodymium complexes was synthesized and characterized by NMR and single-crystal X-ray crystallography. These neodymium complexes with different cocatalysts were investigated in isoprene polymerization and found to exhibit remarkable catalytic activities upon activation with Al(i-Bu)3.
