Isoprene Polymerization Using Neodymium 8-Quinolinolates in Presence of Alkylaluminums

Neodymium (Nd) based catalytic systems have attracted great attention for the polymerization of isoprene in both academia and industry due to their high catalytic activity and high cis-1, 4 selectivity.1 Some Nd 8-quinolinolate complexes were synthesized in reasonable isolated yields and have been fully characterized in this paper.1,2 The binary catalyst system neodymium 8-quinolinolate complexes and TIBA showed high polymerization activities.All the compounds can be carried out under an air atmosphere without Schlenk techniques.The highest activity is up to 105 g·mol-1 (Nd) ·h-1 for the polymerization of isoprene.
