Effects of Taijiquan on Aged Peoples Physical and Mental Health
Purpose: 100 aged people were tested before and after 6 months Taijiquan exercise to compare and their physiological indexes were analyzed to study effect of Taijiquan exercise on old peoples physical and mental health.Method: documentary study, experiments and statistics analyses.Results: After 6 months Taijiquan exercise, the vital capacity and the maximum auto-breath capacity of participants were greatly different after doing Taijiquan exercise (P<0.05), compared with that before doing Taijiquan exercise, and there was an obvious fall in their systolic blood pressure, which was greatly different from that before doing Taijiquan exercise (P<0.01) , while their heart rate and diastolic pressure at rest did not change.Strength, flexibility and balance ability of their legs were obviously different (P<0o05).Conclusion: After 6 months Taijiquan exercise, participants mental well-being was greatly improved.
