Teacher, why do we always talk about what touched our hearts?

　　With Chinas rapid economic development and its estimated 400 million learners of English,the country has become the largest job market in the world for teaching English.More than 120 thousand foreign English teachers are employed here every year.However,before they start their Chinese teaching careers they know very little about teaching practices and student expectations in Chinese universities.This research will report on the two-year study of successes and challenges experienced by a foreign teacher teaching Oral English classes to the second year English major students.It will look at the characteristics of a good English teacher as perceived by the students and will report on their experiences of Public speaking and Debating classes.It will also overview studentsgeneral experiences of learning English at a university level and look at their changing expectations.
