On George Kaos Translation Strategies for Culture-Specific Items

　　This paper presents a preliminary analysis of the translation of culture-specific items in George Kaos Chinese version of the American classic The Great Gatsby.With some typical examples in focus,the author endeavours to give a descriptive and specific account of George Kaos translation strategies employed in rendering the culture-specific items.
