The Color Purple is one of Alice Walkers influential works. The novel depicts the womens oppression from the racialism and sexism of the patriarchal society and demonstrates the excessive exploitation of nature from human beings. The ecofeminism interpretation of The Color Purple aims to explore the relationship between men and women, men and nature, changing from confrontation to harmony, and thus appeal for a better understanding of the balance of ecology and deep concern on the harmonious relationship between men and women, human beings and nature.
