James Legges Versions of Shijing Translation

　　James Legge,the great translator in the 19th century,had translated almost the entire Confucian canons and other ancient Chinese classics,among which he especially devoted himself into Shijing rendition and produced three different style versions of Shijing: the 1871 version in prose,the 1876 version in verse,and the 1879 selected version.Legges versions were famous for his precise style,high quality and rich and detailed instructions and interpretations,so he reproduced the charm of Shijing to the western readers and produced far-reaching effects in the history of the East-West culture communication.
