Application of “Output-driven, Input-Facilitating Hypothesis to College English Intensive Reading

  Based on the suggestion of Wen Qiufang(professor in Beijing Foreign Studies University)that teachers apply “output-driven,input-facilitating hypothesis to college English teaching,this paper aims to cultivate students English outputting ability through Intensive reading teaching.The study proposes specific ways of using input material appropriately to promote desirable output and gives several suggestions on the implementation of communicative tasks with the guidance of “Output-driven,Input-Facilitating Hypothesis.It is concluded that with the perspective of “output-driven,input-facilitating hypothesis as theoretical foundation,students outputting ability in speaking,writing and translating can be lifted through means of increasing the amount of input,enriching the input resources and setting the specific communicative tasks.
