A Study on College English Vocabulary Instruction Based on Chunk Theory

  College English vocabulary instruction is essential to every college student.However,students often have difficulty in meeting the demands of the kind of vocabulary at this level.Chunk theory is being discussed with interest by researchers in recent years.According to the theory,chunks are the ideal form for language learning.Based on the chunk theory,this article describes the way to improve the learners linguistic accuracy,fluency,and competence by setting up the awareness of chunks,elaborating and accumulating chunks and strengthening the practice.
