A Study on the C-E Word Translation Proficiency of Chinese ESL Learners
Research on students translation proficiency is of great significance to the choice of teaching materials and methods.This paper,following the text-driven modeling of translation analysis,intends to explore the relationship between Chinese students C-E word translation proficiency and their English proficiency.By means of testing,statistical analyses and translation quality assessment it is revealed that students C-E word translation proficiency is moderately correlated to their English proficiency,but significant differences are observed in students translation of different types of words.Moreover,C-E word translation proficiency does not develop along with the advancement of English proficiency in a balanced way.
