Control Strategy of STATCOM for Asymmetrical Load Compensation
In order to compensate the asymmetrical load currents by star-connected cascade STATCOM, a novel control strategy combining individual phase instantaneous control with zero-sequence voltage injection is proposed, which splits the whole STATCOM into three single phase STATCOMs and proper control strategy is implemented. Besides, an improved deadbeat current tracking method is also presented to improve the dynamic characteristics of current. The effectiveness of this control algorithm is well validated by prototype experimental results.
