A Novel Control Strategy Based on DC Bus Signaling for DC Micro-grid with Photovoltaic and Battery Energy Storage
DC type micro-grids are developing fast for their flexibility in recent years and dc bus signaling (DBS) strategy is always used to manage a dc micro-grid, where PVs are often switched between controlled current source (CCS) and controlled voltage source (CVS). Conventional-DBS switches the working mode of the power electronic devices in the system by detecting the bus voltage in order to control the bus voltage to a certain range. This paper has proposed a novel control strategy based on DBS for dc micro-grid consisting of photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage, where the PVs of the dc micro-grid serve as CCS all along. Simulation results have verified the reasonability and flexibility of the proposed control strategy through the MATLAB/SIMULINK simulation platform.
