Research in Live Working for the Straight-Line Tower on UHV DC Transmission Lines

The large capacity, long distance, high efficiency transmission electric energy can be realized by the UHV DC transmission technology, which can promote energy structure adjustment and optimized layout. Live working is the powerful guarantee for the safe and stable operation of the UHV DC transmission lines. Take the straight-line tower as an example, simulation models of entering the electric field by the hanging basket and the rope ladder are established based on the actual parameters of the UHVDC lines and corresponding tools. The finite element method is applied to calculate the electric field intensity of the live workers body surface on different paths of entering the electric field. Analyzing the calculated results, the hanging basket method is selected as the way of entering the electric field. In order to ensure the safety of working staff, the safe distance and combined gap of the hanging basket method are checked. The load conditions of the live working tools are obtained by the load analysis for the insulator string of the straight-line tower. It is shown by the field application that the live working task can be accomplished successfully by the method put forward in this paper, which provides reference for the following live working on the UHV transmission line.
