The Analysis of Filed Intensity on Body Surface with Different Entering Equal Potential Working Methods
Most live working projects need lineman enter Equal Potential Working(EPW) for handling, so which method to enter EPW has a significant impact on safety of the lineman. With 220kV cup type tower as objects, the simulation model of the lineman use insulating ladder and hanging basket to enter EPW is established, and filed intensity on body surface is calculated based on finite element method. Simulation results show, when using insulating ladder and hanging basket to enter the side-phase EPW, filed intensity on foot can reach 101.9 kV/m during equal-potential operation, but filed intensity on left and right hand reaches maximum near the tower. Compared with using insulating ladder, the range of filed intensity on different parts of the body with using the hanging basket to enter EPW is smaller, with real benefits to the safety protection in live working on transmission line. When using hanging basket to enter the center-phase EPW, filed intensity on foot can reach 124.2kV/m during equal-potential operation, but filed intensity on head reaches maximum near the tower. This means that, when the safety protection for lineman is evaluated, the process should be considered, rather than during equal-potential operation.
