The Study on the Application of the Unified Power Flow Controller for Shanghai Grid

摘要：

　　In this paper, the basic principle and current application and development of the unified power flow controller (UPFC) are briefly introduced. After that, the necessity to set the UPFC on the zhayun-2268 line is elaborated from the aspects of transfer capacity of power imported channels and increasement of voltage stability. At last, some key problems encountered, such as the UPFCs locating and sizing, the main electrical connections, the control strategy and the protection coordination are further illustrated.
