OCapacity credit evaluation of distributed generations and analysis of its influence factors
As the penetration of renewable DGs in the distribution system is ever increasing, their capacity value can no longer be overlooked in the distribution system expansion planning and operation. In order to support the development of distributed renewable resources and better utilize them in the distribution network, a credit scheme needs to be developed. In this paper, a Monte-Carlo simulation based method is proposed to evaluate the capacity credit of DGs. This paper first defines the capacity credit of DGs using ELCC and then proper index for reliability equivalence is selected. Based on this, a Monte-Carlo simulation method is adopted to compute the reliability of the distribution system. Then, the capacity credit of DGs is calculated by Secant Method. The validity of the technique proposed in this paper is testified using an example distribution system. Further, the influencing factors of DG capacity credit are analyzed comprehensively, including load amount, DG composition, and load composition and so on.
