The Ngatutura Volcanic Field(NVF,North Island,New Zealand)comprises at least 16 basaltic centres(Figure 1)and forms part of a series of Late Cenozoic intraplate basaltic fields,all of which are found in a back-arc setting in the region(Briggs et al.1989).
