New Medium Mn Steel Grades with Exceptional Tensile Properties Achieved at Different Mn Contents

  In this paper,we presented how to adopt new strategies,such as precipitation hardening by V/Nb alloying and warm rolling for partial recrystallization,for designing medium Mn steels with exceptional properties and successfully developed the following steels.(1) 7Mn steel exhibits the similar tensile properties as the higher-Mn steels via both TRIP and TWIP effects during tensile deformation; (2) A superhigh strength 10Mn-V steel with the UTS value of 1.7~1.9 GPa and TE of 10%~20% was produced by the warm rolling and intercritical annealing; (3) 9Mn-V steel has the great potential to exhibit the exceptional excellent properties,which include the UTS value of 1.6~1.7 GPa and TE value of 40%~50%.
