Tensile Properties of Friction Sir Welded Joint of Fe-32Mn-7Cr-1Mo-0.3N Steel at Cryogenic Temperature
In this study, the microstructures and cryogenic tensile properties of fiction stir welded and post-weld heat treated joints of 32Mn-7Cr-1Mo-0.3N steel were investigated. The particles containing residual tungsten distributed in the band structure of the joint were observed. And it caused the cryogenic brittle fracture of the as-welded joint.Post-weld water toughening resulted in the cryogenic intergranular brittleness of the joint. It can be speculated that the cryogenic intergranular brittleness is related to the non-equilibrium segregation of the solute atoms during the post-weld water toughening. The annealing at 550℃ for 30 minutes can effectively inhibit the cryogenic intergranular brittleness of the post-weld water toughening joint. The yield strength, ultimate tensile strength and the uniform elongation of the annealed joint are nearly about 95%,87% and 94% to the corresponding data of the base metal.
