Effect of Continuous Annealing on the Microstructural Evolution of Cold Rolled Medium Mn Steels
In the present work, the effects of continuous annealing parameters Onthe microstructure of medium manganese (Mn) steels were studied. The design of these steels is based on controlling the deformation behavior of the metastable austemte.Theretore, hot and cold rolled medmm Mn compositions were subjected to several anneahn conditions to obtain different amounts and morphologies of metastable austenite. The evolution of the microstructure, during processing as well as deformation,is characterized. An attempt has been made to establish a correlation between deformed microstructure and annealing behavior of the examined steel samples with different volume fractions of ferrite plus secondary phase formations (i.e.martensite,bainite and retained austenite (RA))
