The Effect of Deformation Twins Induced Previously by Cold Rolling on the Mechanical Behavior of Hadfield Steel
In the present study, the examined Hadfield steel was cold rolled (CR) to about 30% reduction in thickness followed by reversion annealing at 250 to 1060oC for 30 seconds to 24 hours.Hadfield steel showed higher work hardening than as usual when it is being tensile tested at low strain rate due to the effect of deformation twins induced in advance by cold rolling. The cold deformed samples then heat-treated showed higher strength and ductility more than the as received ones.
