Effect of Heating Rate on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Medium Mn Steel
Ultrafast heating is an emerging process which differentiates the traditional methods of annealing treatment. The transformation temperatures,Ac1 and Ac3,were measured using the dilatation technique at the heating rates of 10,100K/s.The cold rolled 7 Mn steel sheets with a thickness of 2mm were heated with different heating rates to an intercritical temperature and then immediately air cooled to the room temperature without iso-thermal period. The process could result in increased strength due to the microstructure refinement.
