Ultrafine Grained Multiphase Steels Fabricated through Annealing of Tempered and Deformed Martensite
Ultrafine grained (UFG) steels with different second phases were acquired by adopting tempered and deformed martensite as the pre-microstructure before various annealing processes. It was shown that retained austenite have a significant impact on enhancing the ductility of UFG steels.Tempering before the deformation of martensitic microstructure didnt affect the formation of UFG grains which was attributed to the beneficial effects brought by the cementite. The proposed process avoided directly rolling of virgin martensite and thus showed its promising prospect in industrial productions.
