Influence of Al and Si on Austenite Deformation Behavior in TRIP and TWIP Steels
The research utilized TRIP and TWIP steels with Al and Si compositions to understand the influence of Al and Si on austenite deformation behavior.Aluminum alloying increased the average C-content of retained austenite relative to Si-alloying.The 1 wtpct Al alloying addition increased the SFE by 5mJ/m2,while the 1 wtpct Si alloying decreased the SFE by 1.5mJ/m2.Aluminum alloying showed the higher mechanical stability of austenite and higher resistance to deformation induced martensite relative to Si-alloying.Al suppressed twinning formation and Si promoted twinning formation with deformation.
