Constitutive Relationship for AHSS Steels with Low Strain Level during Pure Bending Based on Khan-Huang Model

In order to characterize the bending plastic formability with low level strain for AHSS steels in cold stamping and roll forming,a state-of-the-art method and set-up named pure bending test was developed and used rather than the traditional tensile test. The pure bending experiments through such way for dual phase steelsHC590DP and HC780DP were implemented and investigated.Relational curves between the bending torque and curvature in the bending forming areas was analysed and the strain-stress curves were thus deduced. The Khan-Huang model was incorporated to study the constitutive relationship for such dual phase steels with low strain level during pure bending. In the end,the constitutive equations were coded using the UAMT and Fortran laguage in Abaqus before validations of the previous experimental data based on numerical simulation was accomplished. Both the experimental and simulation results confirmed the accuracy of the constitutive relationship for dual phase steels HC590DP and HC780DP with low strain level based on Khan-Huang model and this will be considered a guideline for the die design and process optimization in roll forming and other sheet metal forming.
